Gas tanker driver arrested with illegal liquor
Jaisalmer: A LPG gas tanker driver was arrested in a joint operation by Barmer and Balotra police at Patao toll plaza in Balotra with the tanker and 650 cartons of illegal liquor worth Rs 47 lakh on Wednesday. The liquor was being transported from Bhatinda in Punjab to be supplied in Gujarat. Excise officer Gajendra Singh said that a tanker was stopped at the toll plaza and the driver was enquired. The driver was identified as Dinesh Kumar Vishnoi, a resident of Sedva. Currently the excise team is investigating the case. He said that the smugglers have found a new way of smuggling. Generally the gas tankers are not checked by authorities as it is difficult to check and dangerous too. TNN
