For students, learning was fun at ‘Times Speak English’ event
JAIPUR: Some fumbled at the beginning, while a few others were bit hesitant. But as the
Times Speak English, a mobile application presented to readers by TOI and powered by English Edge, is a tool that enables young people to improve their spoken English skills.
The jam-packed SKIT auditorium was filled with laughter and amusement as judges gave quirky tasks to participants that included translating
The judges at the event were social media influencers Kuldeep Singhania and Nidhi Agarwal, and SKIT’s head of English department Niraja Saraswat.
The three winners were Mohammad Mohseen, Archit Jain and Sanidhya Saxena. The students were asked to converse in English while imagining themselves in everyday situations like talking to a friend etc. The judges asked final contestants about how they like to dress up on a new year’s eve, or if they were to meet someone special. The event witnessed many students volunteering to come on the stage and take up the jury’s challenge while students in the audience cheered their classmates.
