Family stages dharna over man’s suicide in Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer: The family members of a 38-year-old man who committed suicide on Tuesday allegedly after getting threats from 'influential people' at Suthar Mandi of Mohangarh area in the district, refused to accept his body and staged dharna outside the mortuary on Wednesday. They demanded that until the 7 accused named in the suicide letter are arrested, they will not get the postmortem done and will not take the body. They lodged a case against 7 people and staged dharna outside the mortuary. Deceased Gopi Ram had sent a suicide note on Whatsapp in which he mentioned names of seven persons who were responsible for his death. His brother Ghewarchand said that Gopi Ram purchased 13 shops in Suthar Mandi and sold 10 shops to Achar Khan, Nizam Khan and others named in the suicide note. However when Gopiram wanted to sell his remaining 3 shops to others these people threatened him from selling it. TNN
