Expert med team reviews treatment of critical women patients at Kota hospital

Kota: A four-member expert team, led by Dr Dhananjay Agrawal, head of the nephrology department at SMS Hospital in Jaipur, conducted an inspection of the super specialty ward at New Medical College Hospital, Kota, Saturday. The visit came in response to complications faced by women patients who were transferred here following caesarean deliveries earlier this week.The team carried out a comprehensive review of patient care and hospital management systems, focusing particularly on the treatment protocols currently in place for the women admitted in critical condition.Currently, four women remain hospitalised in critical condition. Among them, Dhanni Bai is reported to be in the most serious state. The situation appears somewhat optimistic for Ragini and Sushila, who are in the recovery phase, although doctors emphasise that they are still not entirely out of danger. "Chandrakala's condition shows stability and improvement," said Dr RP Meena, additional principal of New Medical College. "Dhanni Bai was put on a ventilator Friday; however, she was removed with signs of recovery Saturday, and is on oxygen support," Dr Meena said.Initially, six women were transferred to the ward due to deteriorating conditions, with two fatalities—Payal (26) and Jyoti Nayak (19)—earlier this week.
