JAIPUR: Mild to moderate showers continued at some places in the state, still mercury continued to rise across the state on Friday. Dholpur received a rainfall of 130mm, highest in the state. Except for some places in the Bharatpur division, the weather mainly remained dry and appreciable rise in the maximum and minimum temperatures was witnessed. Sikar remained coldest with a minimum temperature of 5 degrees Celsius.
Attributing the rise in temperatures to active northerly winds and vanishing of upper air cyclonic circulation and western disturbances, Met office said that the mercury will continue to take an upward swing.
People in Jaipur woke up to another warmer morning logging a minimum temperature of 12.4 degrees Celsius. It was followed by an afternoon recording 25.2 degrees Celsius. Though cloudy conditions were witnessed in the morning, it did not rain till the evening. Fog has totally vanished from Jaipur due to which air, road and rail traffic remained smooth. Mild to moderate showers continued at many places in Karauli, Dholpur, Bharatpur and some parts of Sawai Madhopur on Friday. Dholpur was followed by Sepau (Dholpur) where a rainfall of 40mm was recorded, and Vair (Bharatpur) received 30 mm rain. A rainfall of 10mm was recorded at many places in Bharatpur division.
Sikar was followed by Fatehpur where a minimum temperature of 5.3 degrees Celsius was recorded, Karauli and Sangariya 5.4 degrees Celsius each, Mount Abu 6.8, Alwar 7.0, Pilani 7.5, Sirohi 7.8, Vanasthali 8.5, Churu 8.6, Sriganganagar 9.3, Dholpur 10.1, Jalore 10.5, Jaisalmer 11.1, Barmer 13.1 and a minimum temperature of 13.2 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jodhpur.
The Met office has said that the temperatures will further rise barring a few more spells of western disturbances in the coming days, which are likely to bring rain and hailstorm.

Amid rising temperatures, Telangana is facing beer shortages as liquor companies cut down on supplies due to outstanding payments from the government. Liquor stores across the state are missing beer from the shelves. The dues amount to Rs 1,000 crore, with only Rs 100 crore paid by the excise department. Beer manufacturers have made appeals to clear the dues.
