Drunken driving: Man hits woman, caught

JAIPUR: In a case of drunken driving, a car driver hit a woman near Jawahar Nagar turn under Adarsh Nagar police station on Monday evening. The driver tried to escape but an advocate, Sneh Deep, who followed him in his car for five km, caught him in Raja Park area. Adarsh Nagar police took the driver into custody and matter is under investigation.
According to lawyer Sneh Deep, he was returning from work when he saw a car in front of him, being driven in a rash manner by some unidentified person.As soon as he reached near the Jawahar Nagar turn, the rash driver hit the woman, who was crossing the road and escaped towards Jawahar Nagar. On this, Sneh Deep followed him. The injured woman was taken to a hospital by the passersby. The advocate managed to catch him near Raja Park, when the drunk driver was stopped by another car.
The local people caught hold of him and thrashed him before handing him over to police. The police patrol took him to police station and said he would be put to medical examination to measure the amount of liquor consumed by him and action would be taken accordingly.
