Copter manoeuvre captivates crowd at function

Brigadier A S Siddhu, VSM, captivated a crowd of nearly 2,500 people including chief minister Ashok Gehlot, tourism minister Bina Kak and mayor Jyoti Khandelwal with his helicopter maneuvering skills here during the curtain raiser on Saturday for the the South Western Commannd’s investiture ceremony and Army Day celebrations scheduled for Sunday.

JAIPUR: Brigadier A S Siddhu, VSM, captivated a crowd of nearly 2,500 people including chief minister Ashok Gehlot, tourism minister Bina Kak and mayor Jyoti Khandelwal with his helicopter maneuvering skills here during the curtain raiser on Saturday for the the South Western Commannd’s investiture ceremony and Army Day celebrations scheduled for Sunday.
A plethora of skills was showcased during the curtain raiser event whichincluded demonstrations of operations performed in war-like situations like slithering and casualty evacuation at the 61 Cavalry polo ground.

A display of helicopter maneuvering skills by 51-year-old Brig Siddhu, a helicopter fly past by the 9 Recee & Observation Flight unit, equestrian skills, sky diving by personnel of 3 parachute special forces and parasailing by 12 Assam Regiment, cultural perfomances on Naga, Bhangra, Gurkha and Maratha traditions were also exhibited during the event.The polo ground of 61 cavalry at Khatipura bore a festive look as personnel, their family members and Jaipurites flocked to in large numbers to watch the displays.
Altogether 18 Sena medals and three Vishisht Seval medals will be awarded to officer and jawans of the South Western Command during its investiture ceremony on Sunday.
