Jaipur: Normal life was hit and vehicular traffic was thrown into disarray in many parts of the state due to heavy rains on Monday. Several districts in Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer and Jaipur divisions witnessed constant rain. Several villages in Kota, Jhalawar, Bundi and Baran districts were inundated.
Road connectivity between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan via Kota and Jhalawar was affected due to incessant rainfall.

Dug in Jhalawar received 234 mm rainfall, the highest in the state, followed by Kota (220 mm), Laadpura (in Kota, 190 mm), Anta (Baran, 170 mm) and Bhainsrorgarh (Chittorgarh, 130 mm), said the Met office.
Rainfall varying from 130 mm to 10 mm was received at several places in Jhalawar, Kota, Bundi, Baran, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa, Karauli Alwar and Jaipur districts.
People in Jaipur woke up amidst heavy showers on Monday. Many areas in the city witnessed heavy rainfall that started at 5:45am and continued till 8:30am. Moderate to heavy showers fell in the city in the evening. Many parts of the city witnessed heavy waterlogging on the roads, including at Statue Circle, Sikar Road, SMS highway, Tonk Road and Ajmer Road. Low-lying areas like Shastri Nagar’s Bhatta Basti, Mohalla Panigaran, Ghoda Nikas Road and some colonies in Jhotwara also witnessed waterlogging. Many areas in the city also experienced abrupt power cuts during the day.
In its forecast, Jaipur Met office said heavy rainfall is likely at many places in Kota and Udaipur divisions while mild to moderate showers will continue in the rest of the state in the next 24 hours.
