“His kidneys and liver have stopped functioning. He is fighting for his life in the ICU,” said his uncle Bunti Dangayaich.
He said his nephew was good in studies. “His CA result was out today (Wednesday) and he has secured the highest marks in the class,” he said.
In the accident, 17-year-old Vaibhav Singhal was killed when their bike collided with a car. Both of them were taken to a hospital by passersby. According to preliminary investigation, none of them was wearing helmets.
Prajwal was riding the bike when the car hit them. The car driver fled from the scene. A case under IPC Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) has been registered against the driver who is yet to be traced.
Though three days have passed since the incident took place, police have failed to nab the accused.
“The accused has not been arrested yet. He is still at large,” said Gajanand Singh, investigating officer of the case.
However, police looked helpless as they had to control the law and order situation in Galta Gate area where stone pelting incidents have been continuing for the past four days.
