At Jauhar memorial event in Chittor, Yogi warns against caste politics
Bhilwara: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Sunday attended "Jauhar Shraddhanjali Samaroh" at Chittorgarh Fort, where he said caste-based politics was eroding society's foundations and warned that it could drag the nation back towards servitude.Addressing the public gathering, he alleged opposition leaders were putting constitutional institutions on trial, driven not by national interest but by anxiety over their own political survival, and were determined to tamper with India's identity. He said Chittorgarh Fort was not just a structure of stone, but a vigilant guardian of India's identity.Speaking on law and order in Uttar Pradesh, he said anyone who threatened the safety of sisters and daughters would meet "Yamraj at the next crossing." He claimed women could return home safely even after night shifts in offices and factories, and said Indian women must be assured security, dignity, and self-reliance.Referring to the Gorakhpur Peeth, he said his revered Dada Guru also went to Gorakhpur from this very region, and that whatever Uttar Pradesh was achieving reflected the spiritual glow of Rajasthan and Chittorgarh.Adityanath arrived at the helipad at Chittorgarh police lines and proceeded to the Jauhar site at Chittorgarh Fort, where he paid homage to the courageous women and visited the Kalika Maa temple within the fort.Addressing people who had come for the Jauhar Mela, he said the event organised by Jauhar Smriti Sansthan honoured the self-respect of Indian women, a legacy he attributed to Maharani Padmavati. He said the changes seen in Uttar Pradesh under Prime Minister Modi's leadership also carried the contribution of Rajasthan's brave land.He added that there was no living trace of the lineages of Khilji, Babur, Aurangzeb, or Akbar, while the lineage of Maharana Pratap still stood before the people even after centuries. He said Sanatan Dharma was eternal, would remain eternal, and would withstand challenges. Those present at the programme included Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Rajasthan ministers Rajyavardhan Rathore and Gautam Dak, Chittorgarh MP C P Joshi, Chittorgarh City MLA Chandrama Singh Aakya, office-bearers of Jauhar Smriti Sansthan, and thousands of attendees.
