Ajmer cops crack blind murder case of woman, 2 arrested

The police on Monday cracked the case of a blind murder of a woman whose body was found in a rented house last week and arrested two accused in this matter. Police claimed that the murder was committed because one of the accused had honey-trapped and therefore planned the murder. The accused are from Uttar Pradesh and chose Ajmer to commit this crime.

AJMER: The police on Monday cracked the case of a blind murder of a woman whose body was found in a rented house last week and arrested two accused in this matter. Police arrested both the accused from Gurgaon, Haryana and have started investigation. Police arrested Rajan Kesari (25) son of Chaman Lal, resident of Allahabad and Shalu Kesari (23) wife of Rajan. After the murder they shifted to Gurgaon. The deceased has been identified as Jyoti.
According to the police, Rajan and Shalu fell in love and married in a temple. However, soon after this Rajan met Jyoti and married her too and they started living together. The couple had a daughter Pari. Rajan claimed that when their daughter was 3 months old Jyoti got involved in flesh trade.
Rajan then started working as a cricket bookie. Rajan and Jyoti then started living in different cities. They lived in Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Patna, Mumbai and many other cities of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for one-and--half years.
The accused claimed that he lost about Rs 3 lakh in betting last year. Then he started to spend money earned by Jyoti through flesh trade. In the meantime Rajan’s first wife, Shalu also came and started living with them.
They came to Ajmer where Jyoti asked Rajan to leave his first wife. This led to frequent quarrels between the couple. Rajan was disturbed due to these fights and later he conspired with Shalu to kill Jyoti as she started was threatening him continuously then she would tell the police about his crimes.

On May 16 they rented a room in Ratidang area of Ajmer and contacted the house owner over the phone. He told them to take the key from the neighbours. Police found out that once the murder was committed this mobile number was switched off. On May 24, Rajan and Shalu first slit Jyoti’s throat and later hit her head with a stone so that no one could identify her.
After the crime, Rajan took Shalu along with Pari to a rented room in Gurgaon and later left for Indore. Police traced the mobile number and the past call data and arrested both the accused from Gurgaon. “We are investigating to find out about other crimes by the couple,” said a policeman.
