AGTF arrests two operatives linked to Godara–Charan gang in Jaipur raid
Jaipur: Two alleged organised crime operatives with links to gangster networks of Rohit Godara and Virendra Charan were arrested from the Kardhani area in Jaipur on Sunday in a targeted Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) operation.
ADG SOG Dinesh MN identified the accused as Krishna Singh, 31, and Laxman Singh, 34, both of whom were absconding in multiple cases. Investigators said Krishna Singh was in direct contact with the Godara-Charan network and allegedly acted on its directions to threaten businessmen.
The arrests were made as part of a statewide crackdown on organised and absconding criminals under the supervision of senior ATS/AGTF officers. Acting on specific intelligence that Krishna Singh was hiding in Jaipur, teams mounted surveillance and conducted a raid in Kardhani, where both accused were apprehended.
Police said Krishna Singh was on the run for nearly three years and was a key accused in the Sujangarh jewellery showroom firing case, allegedly carried out as part of an extortion attempt. He was earlier jailed in a murder case in Parbatsar and is believed to have resumed criminal activities after his release.
Laxman Singh, the second accused, is a habitual offender with 27 criminal cases registered against him, including attempt to murder and chain-snatching in Jaipur and nearby districts. Police said he was evading arrest in multiple cases.
Officials said both accused are currently being interrogated to uncover details of the gang’s network, local operatives and possible future plans. More arrests are likely based on their disclosures.
Police said that the accused are being probed to find out if they were planning other criminal activities at the behest of their gangsters.
