: At least 809 films from 63 nations will be screened during the two-day

Chambal International Film Festival

at the

UIT Auditorium

from Friday.

Filmmakers from Italy, the US, and Oman will attend the fifth season of the fest.

Dr Kapil Siddharth, the director and founder of the festival, said short films, documentaries, music videos, feature films, and animation films will be screened during the festival and detailed information was available on the festival’s official website, www.ciff.co.in.

Siddharth claimed that the world's finest films will be shown at the festival and the audience will be able to know about the culture, surroundings, heritage, art, and stories of different countries.

Reputed directors from renowned film festivals such as Oscar, Cannes, BAFTA, Berlin and Toronto have sent their films to the festival for screening, he said.

The jury that comprises renowned lyricist Sayeed Quadri, singer and music composer Kshitij Tarey, writer- director Ranjan Das, will announce the winners, he said.

The fest will screen films based on social issues and concerns.
