JAIPUR: The rain god hasn't shown any mercy as heavy rainfall continued to affect normal life across the state for the eighth consecutive day on Wednesday. One person was drowned in inundated Rosalia village in Sirohi district while a person was electrocuted in Jalore.
Heavy rainfall has been reported at several places in Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Barmer while water started receding from the districts of southern Rajasthan including Kota, Baran, Jhalawar and Chittorgarh.

Jaipurities woke up to drizzles and mild showers that continued throughout the day. A rainfall of 25.8mm was recorded in the city. Weather mainly remained pleasant in the city as a maximum temperature of 23.8 degrees Celsius was recorded. Meanwhile, rescue teams of NDRF, SDRF and district administration were working at various flood affected villages in Chittorgarh, Baran, Dungarpur, Banswara and Dholpur.
Officers from the water resources department kept storming their heads on planning how many gates of various overflowing dams across the state need to be reopened and closed to maintain a safe water level.
Desuri(Pali) received a rainfall of 130mm which was highest in the state and was followed by Bari(Dholpur) where a rainfall of 110mm was received, Gangapur(Sawai Madhopur) 100mm, Nadoti(Karauli) and Hindaun (Karauli) 90mm eac. Many places in the eastern Rajasthan also witnessed a rainfall of 80-10mm.
In its forecast, Jaipur meteorological office has said that heavy to heavier rainfall is likely to occur at several places in eastern and some parts of the western Rajasthan.
