Drug peddler held with over 50,000 heroin in Itanagar
Itanagar: A drug peddler was arrested with suspected contraband worth Rs 51,000 by police here on Thursday, reports Joken Ete.
“The Capital unit of Arunachal Pradesh Police was tipped off about one Yuchak Tana indulging in heroin trafficking from his residence at IB Colony,” SP (Capital) Rohit Rajbir Singh said, adding that a specialised team led by Itanagar SDPO Kengo Dirchi was formed to nab him.

Yuchak, 20, was caught in Gandhi Market. During interrogation, he confessed to peddling drugs, the SP said.

A Mapusa court denied bail to Jatan Singh from Rajasthan, arrested in March for possessing 532g of methamphetamine. Police, acting on a tip-off, intercepted Singh's car in Candolim. Circumstantial evidence, including a train ticket, indicated his travel from Rajasthan to Goa. Bail was refused under Sec 37 of the NDPS Act, considering the commercial quantity of drugs seized.
