(CPC) recommendations will be implemented.

cabinet, headed by chief minister Pema Khandu, has decided to implement the recommendations from January 1 this year, adding a financial liability of Rs 423.27 crore for 2016-17 to the state exchequer, government spokesperson Passang Dorjee Sona told the media.

Accordingly, the arrears from January 1, 2016 to September 30, 2016 will be paid in the next financial year, while that from October this year to March 31 next year will be paid during the current fiscal.

The arrears would be paid in cash in two instalments - May 2017 and September 2017.

More than 70,499 regular state government employees and 25,919 pensioners are set to benefit from this step.
