Arunachal guv urges ESM to serve society

Itanagar: Arunachal governor Lt Gen (retd) KT Parnaik on Sunday called upon ex-servicemen (ESM) to commit themselves in the service of the society and contribute towards the progress of the nation.Addressing the 10th Veteran Sainik Sammelan of the 2nd Battalion of the Rajputana Rifles at Bhiwani, Haryana, Parnaik said ex-servicemen have defended the border and secured the territorial integrity of the nation, now as they have transited into civilian life, their mission is far from over, a statement from Raj Bhavan said on Monday.He said with their exclusive skill, vigilance, strength and an unwavering sense of duty, they can contribute toward justice, equity and transparent governance.The governor urged ex-servicemen to utilise their expertise in different fields to provide leadership, creating awareness and mentorship to the youth.

Pension to ex-servicemen apply from date of discharge: HC

Punjab & Haryana High Court ruled in favor of ex-serviceman Jaspal Singh, stating that military pensioners should receive benefits from their discharge date, not from the date of a court order. The decision overruled the Armed Forces Tribunal's prior judgment which granted Singh pension benefits from April 2019, emphasizing benefits should accrue from the actual discharge date.

Arunachal min calls for joint efforts to solve border issues

Arunachal urban affairs minister Balo Raja called for collaborative efforts to resolve the border issue with Assam, emphasizing teamwork and transparency.
