A pregnant woman and her family members had a harrowing experience at district hospital here on Thursday, when the hospital staff initially refused to remove the foetus, after it was detected to be dead.

UJJAIN: A pregnant woman and her family members had a harrowing experience at district hospital here on Thursday, when the hospital staff initially refused to remove the foetus, after it was detected to be dead.
The kin of the pregnant woman had to protest before the hospital authorities and it was only after the cops were called, that the kin got pacified and the operation was conducted.

According to sources, Anamika, wife of Sharad Joshi, 32, a resident of Maksi was brought at the hospital for delivery on Wednesday night.
Victim's husband Sharad Joshi said, "I pleaded the doctor on duty and nurses, all through the night to operate my wife and remove the dead foetus, but to no avail."
When asked, civil surgeon C D Sharma said, "Staff on duty will be asked to explain, once a written complaint is received."
Dewasgate police station in charge Yogendra Singh Sisodia said, "A police party was sent to the hospital after receiving report of ruckus, but we haven't a received a written complaint from the kin of the patient."
