"Looking at this stadium, one is reminded of world-class stadiums abroad. Hockey players from other cities in the country used to come and perform at Ksheer Sagar Stadium. A synthetic turf meeting international standards was the need of the hour here, and it will be completed very soon. Our endeavour will be that international-level matches are organised at this stadium during the 2030 Commonwealth Games," Yadav said. The chief minister noted that developing sports infrastructure across the state was a priority, with new stadiums, sports complexes, and training facilities being set up in various districts.
Beyond the hockey turf and pavilion, the project will also include an athletics pavilion, road construction, parking, and a compound wall within the Nanakheda stadium complex.Yadav listed several facilities already delivered to Ujjain: 8.71 hectares of land secured for sports use, an athletic synthetic track worth Rs 7.22 crore, a lawn tennis synthetic court, a grass football ground, and Rajmata Scindia Multipurpose Sports Complex built at Rs 11.43 crore, which houses a shooting range, badminton hall, mallakhamba, and a gymnasium with equipment worth Rs 1.50 crore. He also announced that a stadium would come up in Hasamapura, with a 4-lane road being built to improve connectivity, giving talented players from villages across the region access to better sporting opportunities. The swimming pool at Najarali Compound and other major swimming pools, he added, would be transferred to sports department for proper maintenance.
