Khargone: Supreme Court lawyer and BJP leader Nazia Elahi Khan on Monday evening alleged that the marriage between Monalisa Bhosale and Farman Khan violated the Hindu Marriage Act and accused those involved of misusing Hindu traditions.
Speaking to media persons in Khargone, Khan said the marriage was legally invalid and demanded an immediate, detailed investigation by security agencies.
According to Khan, the marriage ceremony reportedly followed Hindu rituals despite Farman Khan identifying as a Muslim. "If he is still a Muslim, how can he marry in a temple under Hindu customs? This is a violation of the Hindu Marriage Act 1955 and a misuse of Hindu traditions," she said.
She also alleged that the couple was being hidden by the Kerala govt and expressed concern over Monalisa's mother's deteriorating health, demanding that the family be allowed to meet her.
She was accompanied by Sanoj Mishra, the film director who launched Monalisa in his film. tnn
