Truck hits 2-wheeler in Manpur, woman killed

Indore: A woman was killed and her husband seriously injured after a two-wheeler they were riding on was hit by a speeding truck in Manpur.
Manpur police station inspector Vijay Sisodiya said that Khargone resident Kamlesh Patidar and his wife Uma Bai were returning to their village from Indore on Friday on a two-wheeler when they were mowed down by a speeding truck in Manpur area.Both of them were dragged by the truck and received severe injuries. Uma died on the spot while Kamlesh was seriously injured and admitted to the hospital.
Sisodiya said that the couple’s son was living in Indore for studies for the past few years. He had rented a flat with four other friends in Pipliyahana area and their mothers used to live with them for 15 days each to take care of them and cook them food.
Uma had come to live with his son and his friends at their flat for a fortnight and was returning home on Friday when the accident occurred.
A video of Kamlesh sitting near his injured wife by the roadside and crying for help went viral on social media soon after the accident.
The police said that a case was registered against the truck driver but he fled from the spot. tnn
