Indore: Aimed at keeping congestion in check and streamline vehicle movement, traffic police conducted a foot patrol in busy Rajwada market area on Sunday.
The team led by DCP (traffic) Rajesh Kumar Tripathi moved through key market stretches and parking zones while interacting with traders and commuters.
The patrol covered Rajwada, Sarafa, Cloth Market, Khajuri Bazaar and Subhash Chowk, where officials reviewed parking arrangements and traffic flow in the narrow market lanes. The visit focused on ensuring smoother movement for vehicles as well as pedestrians in the densely packed trading area.
During the interaction with shopkeepers and representatives of traders' associations, Tripathi urged them to cooperate with traffic rules and ensure that vehicles were parked only in designated spaces.
He said vehicles left outside shops for long durations would be treated as illegal parking and action could be taken against them.
The DCP also informed traders and citizens that complaints regarding such vehicles could be reported on the traffic police WhatsApp helpline number 7049107620, following which teams would take prompt action.
Officials said continuous monitoring and regular patrols in the Rajwada market zone helped keep traffic movement orderly in the area.
