Trader loses two gold chains after giving lift to stranger
Indore: A trader in Vijay Nagar area lost two gold chains after offering a lift to a stranger riding pillion on his scooter. The accused allegedly stole the chains from the trader's bag during the ride and fled. Vijay Nagar police said a theft case was registered on Saturday against an unidentified youth following a complaint by Naman Waghela, a resident of Mahalaxmi Nagar. Waghela runs a sanitary business in the city.Waghela told police that he went to the Bombay Hospital area on his scooter when a young man approached him on the road and requested a lift, saying he needed to reach Dewas Naka. Considering the intense heat, Waghela allowed him to sit on the scooter and dropped him near Dewas Naka before heading towards a bank and later returning home.The theft came to light only after Waghela reached home and opened the bag he was carrying. When he checked the box kept inside, he found that both gold chains were missing. He immediately informed the police.During investigation, police scanned CCTV footage from nearby locations. In one of the cameras installed near a hotel, the suspect was seen putting his hand into the bag hanging behind the scooter while riding pillion.
