Ujjain: A toll plaza employee was allegedly assaulted on Sunday by a group of men after he refused to allow their vehicle to pass without paying the toll on national highway 52 in Shajapur area of Ujjain. CCTV footage of the incident surfaced, showing seven to eight men attacking the staffer.
The incident occurred between 11 am and 12 noon at Rojwas Toll Plaza on the Shajapur-Maksi road. According to police, occupants of a car coming from the Maksi side told the toll employee, "We have a message; we will pass the vehicle for free." When the staffer objected and insisted on payment, an argument broke out.

The dispute quickly escalated, and the accused allegedly assaulted Vinod Singh, a resident of Bihar who works at the toll plaza.
He sustained injuries to his head and eye.
"They came in 2 vehicles and claimed they had a message from the Sarpanch of Tonkkala. We refused to let them pass without paying the toll. After standing there for some time, 8 to 10 people attacked us and then fled," Singh said from the district hospital.
Other toll employees intervened and managed to control the situation before the attackers fled.
Police said they are identifying the accused using CCTV footage and launched an investigation. The injured employee was reported to be stable.
