INDORE: Three years after MPPEB scam accused Namrata Damor was found dead on railways tracks in Ujjain district in 2012, the case remains inconclusive. Police investigation into Damor’s death has failed to ascertain whether she was pushed off train or committed suicide by jumping off a running train.
Inquiry revealed she died of falling from train.

Moreover, no concrete evidence was found against suspects behind Damor’s death. DNA report of semen samples found on Damor’s clothes did not match with four suspects, including Dev Sisodiya, Yash Deshwala, Vishal Verma and Alek, said police. But, there are too many inconsistencies in police findings. Police claim Namrata’s mobile was recovered from a co-passenger, Shradha Kesharwani, two months after her death and they were strangers to each other. However, her parents claimed Kesharwani were Namrata close friends.
Kaytha police station in Ujjain submitted this report before Indore bench of MP high court through SP, Ujjain. Investigating officers in the case and sub-inspector of Kaytha police station, Madhav Sharma, said, “The report has been submitted before court. Namrata died after a fall from train, but whether it was a suicide or murder, it’s not clear. DNA report did not indicate role of four accused behind her death. The case is nearing conclusion with court asking Damor’s family to file a private complaint to register a case against suspects if they are not satisfied with police investigation.”
Namrata Damor was allegedly sexually exploited and used as a honeytrap by scamsters, say police sources. Namrata had a love affair with Vishal Verma and Dev Sisodia. What lends credence to this suspicion is the fact that Namrata is in list of suspects who cleared PMT-2010 using unfair means, and key suspect, Vishal Verma, is also in list of students, who cleared PMT-2009 through an impersonator.
A team of three doctors who conducted autopsy on her said she was smothered to death and reported semen on her clothes. Wanted by Gwalior SIT, Verma had later surrendered and was sent to jail for rigging PMT. Verma had allegedly helped Namrata for a mutual transfer from G R Medical College, Gwalior to MGM Medical College.
