Indore: Three members of an inter-state vehicle theft gang, all aged 18, were arrested by Indore Crime Branch and Vijay Nagar police in a joint operation, leading to the recovery of nine stolen two-wheelers worth several lakh rupees.
Police said that they received information about a group of youths roaming around Meghdoot Garden and Vijay Nagar on suspicious motorcycles without registration numbers and were attempting to sell them at throwaway prices. A joint team laid a trap and detained three persons, Mohit Verma of Pardeshipura, Vishesh Kori of Patel Colony and Nishant Sunhare of Sharda Nagar.
During questioning, the accused failed to produce valid ownership documents for the motorcycles. They revealed that they had stolen the vehicles from Vijay Nagar, Pardeshipura, Kanadia, Sanwer and Dewas Naka areas on different days.
Police recovered nine stolen motorcycles from their possession.
