Indore: A late-night ride back from a wedding turned fatal for three teenage friends in a tribal pocket of Alirajpur district after a speeding vehicle rammed into their motorcycle barely 100 metres from home. All three died within hours of the head-on collision.The accident took place around 1 am on Saturday near Bori village limits under local police jurisdiction. The boys had attended a wedding in Chuliya village, about 3 km away and were returning on a single motorcycle when the crash occurred.The deceased 14-year-old Anil, 17-year-old Roshan and 14-year-old Sawan belonged to farming families.Police said another group of their friends was following on a second bike. It was they who rushed the injured to a nearby hospital after the collision. Two boys died on the spot due to the impact, while the third succumbed shortly after being taken for treatment, doctors said.Police have registered a case and begun a search to trace the vehicle driver responsible for the crash.Locals said the spot where the accident occurred is poorly lit and late-night vehicular movement often goes unchecked.
The proximity to their homes has deepened the shock in the village, where the families are struggling to process the loss.Investigators said none of the three were attending school. Sawan had dropped out about a year ago, while the others were also not pursuing formal education. Further details were awaited as police continued their probe into the accident.
