Indore: Ratlam police on Saturday recovered bodies of three men from two different locations.
Bodies of two men were found floating in Mathuri Pond under the Karmadi Gram Panchayat around 1.30 pm. Manak Chowk police station in-charge Patiram Dawre reached the spot with divers to retrieve the remains.
"The deceased were identified as Shankar (35), a resident of Bajrang Nagar, and Munna (30) from Dilip Nagar. Munna's father said that his son, a labourer, had been missing for 3–4 days. Munna had completed a 10-year prison sentence and was released a month ago," Dawre said.
While the exact cause of death remains unclear, locals have linked the recovery to a failed theft attempt on April 15. On that night, three men allegedly tried to steal a motor near the pond; one was caught, while two others fled. Police are currently investigating whether these two incidents were connected.
On Saturday morning, body of one Teja Dodiyar (35) was found face down in the hilly terrain of Dabar village. The victim's motorcycle was recovered nearby, but the condition of the body suggested a violent end.
Bajna police station in-charge Manish Dabar and FSL officer Atul Mittal inspected the scene, noting significant injuries and blood loss from the victim's head and ears. Due to the nature of the wounds, police suspected it to be a case of murder.
All three bodies were sent to Ratlam Medical College for postmortem examinations. Police were recording statements of family members to determine when the victims were last seen and who they were with before their deaths.
