Indore: A 19-year-old was killed and three youngsters seriously injured during a fight over dominance in Shivgarh village of Ratlam district on Tuesday night.
SP Abhishek Tiwari said that the incident took place in the Government Higher Secondary School ground on Tuesday night around 8:30 pm after Abhishek Patni and his friends clashed with Mahesh Hada and his friends after a verbal spat over a social media post.
“While the post was just an excuse, they clashed over domination in the area. Most of them had passed out from school recently and many had left studies,” said Tiwari.
Both the groups attacked each other with sticks and sharp-edged weapons.
Abhishek Patni, son of Ishwar Patni, resident of Piplichowk in Shivgarh was killed in the incident whereas his friend Rishabh and Gaurav Soni were seriously injured. In the second group Mahesh, son of Kanwarlal Hada, Ankit Hatila and Ravi Rathore were injured.
Abhishek’s body was sent for post mortem examination and handed over to the family.
Police said that eight persons have been arrested in the case.
