INDORE: Twenty-three members of
Tablighi Jamaat were arrested from Dewas and Agar-Malwa districts in MP between Wednesday night and Thursday, and quarantined.
They have been booked for violating lockdown orders and causing a malignant act likely to spread infection or disease, police said.
"As many as 11 members of Tablighi Jamaat, who had come from Jaipur, were staying in Pipalkota in Katwas area," additional SP Dr Neeraj Chourasia told TOI.
As soon as police received the tip-off, the Jamaat members were rounded up.
In Agar Malwa, police arrested 12 Tablighi Jamaat members, who are believed to have attended the cluster in
Nizamuddin. SP Manoj Singh said they were picked up from Nalkheda after receiving intelligence input on Thursday. "They had travelled from Delhi and come here via Bhopal around 20 days ago. No information was given to the administration about their arrival," he said.
