Indore: Six members of a family, including four children, were killed when their house collapsed following heavy rains at Dhebarbadi village in Kalyanpura area of Jhabua district in the wee hours on Tuesday.
The mishap occurred in the village when the victims were sleeping in their house which collapsed suddenly following a long spell of rains in the district, Jhabua superintendent of police (SP) Sanjay Tiwari said.
The deceased have been identified as - Mukesh Bhabor (32), his wife Rukm Bai (30), daughters Bodi (8), Buchi (4) and Sarangi (02) and son Vijay (06), Tiwari said. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination to the district hospital.
Collector Ashish Saxena, after visiting the mishap spot, claimed that efforts were on to bring Mukesh's mother from Gujarat. The kin of the deceased would be provided compensation as per the government guidelines, he added.
