Ujjain: Seven persons were injured when a colour firecracker exploded at Santram Sindhi Colony Tiraha in Ujjain on Sunday, shortly before the start of Shri Krishna-Sudama Rang Utsav celebrations.
The injured were rushed to nearby private hospitals for treatment, and two of them were subsequently referred to Indore.

"Statements of injured were recorded and a case was registered against an unknown person," Additional Superintendent of Police Guruprasad Parashar said. He added that the condition of the injured was stable.
Parashar said the incident occurred before the colour festival officially began, when an unidentified person set off a firecracker used to spray colour.
