Rs 25 crore recovery notice issued for illegal mining in Khargone
Khargone: District administration has issued a recovery notice of Rs 25.66 crore to an infrastructure company over illegal mining.According to information released by Collector's office (mining branch), the action follows a report submitted by mining inspector based on a complaint received on March 28.A joint team of revenue and mining departments had conducted an investigation and confirmed illegal excavation of murum (fine gravel) in the villages of Meherja and Dawariya.The administration served a notice to AK Shivhare Infrastructure (Bhopal), directing the company to deposit a penalty amount equivalent to 15 times the royalty, totalling Rs12,83,38,500. Additionally, an equal amount has been imposed as environmental compensation. A case fee of Rs 1,000 has also been levied.The action has been taken under Madhya Pradesh minerals (prevention of illegal mining, transportation and storage) rules, 2022.The notice states that the company must deposit the specified amount and appear before the office within 15 days to present its case. Failure to comply within the stipulated time will result in further legal action, including imposition of double the penalty amount as per the rules.
