Retired cop found dead under bridge

Indore: A 60-year-old retired assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police was found dead near Nemawar bridge in Azad Nagar area Sunday late night.His two-wheeler was found beside him. The deceased was identified as Babulal Kumar, who retired from the police training centre, police said.Some commuters informed Khudel police about a body near a bridge in the area. The body on the bridge created panic among commuters, who gathered to see it, police said. The police team came to the spot. The policemen immediately searched whereabouts with registration number and made photos of body viral on social media, police said.“The family members rushed to the spot. He was rushed to the nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead,” Khudel police station in-charge Deepak Khatri said.“The information was received at Khudel police station. A police team went to the spot, and family members were informed. The retired policeman's body didn’t have any injury marks and later it was revealed that he died of cardiac arrest,” added Khatri.“The incident was in the Azad Nagar police station area. So, the death was recorded there and the body was handed over to family members following a post-mortem examination,” added Khatri. ASI retired from the police in June this year. He is survived by a son and a daughter. He is basically from Chhindwara but is now living in his house in Indore after retirement. His brother also recently retired from the police department, police said.
