Recovery drive for embezzled amount begins

Indore: Indore district administration has launched a drive to recover the embezzled amount from paramedical colleges after irregularities in distribution of scholarship. ADM Abhay Bedekar said: “There are a total 19 paramedical colleges in Indore that have reported irregularities in scholarship distribution. Of them, the high court has given a stay in recovering the embezzled amount from 10 paramedical colleges, while a drive is underway against nine paramedical colleges.” He added that against total recovery of Rs 1.01 crore from Greater Malwa Institute of Paramedical College, Malharganj naib-tehsildar on Thursday seized Veena Nagar situated house of director Dr Ram Achal Yadav, while a similar action was taken against the director of Sweta Paramedical College. “Against the recovery of Rs 46.87 lakh against Sweta Paramedical College, Malharganj naib-tehsildar seized the institute’s director Devendra Malviya house in Meghdoot Nagar. “In another action, the administration has seized around 1.25 acres of land in Dudhiya village owned by the director of A S Kharab College of Paramedica against the recovery of Rs 39.99 lakh,” the ADM said adding that following the ongoing drive, Maa Narmada Paramedical College and Greater Malwa Institute of Paramedical College on Friday deposited Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively.“As part of an ongoing recovery drive, the administration had on Thursday issued RRC against three paramedical colleges. Of this, Keshav Paramedical College on Friday cleared the entire amount of Rs 9.13 lakh,” he said. tnn
