Puppy beaten to death in Indore, video sparks outrage
Indore: A man has been booked for allegedly beating a puppy to death in Indore's Lasudia area, after a video of the incident surfaced on Sunday and triggered widespread outrage.The attack took place on the night of March 19 in Paradise Colony. The footage shows the puppy walking up to the accused and another man on the road, before being struck repeatedly with a stick. The animal collapses and dies after writhing in pain. The video also captures the accused dragging the injured puppy.The accused was identified as Mukesh Kumawat, a resident of Paradise Colony. Based on the viral video, Priyanshu Jain, president of People for Animals (PFA), Indore unit, approached police on Saturday night and got an FIR filed.Police said Mukesh claimed the dog used to bite people, which led him to assault the animal. The accused is on the run, and efforts are under way to trace him. The second man seen in the video is yet to be identified.
