Prime accused in Surajna MD drugs factory case arrested
Indore: A prime accused in the Surajna MD drugs factory case, absconding since February, has been arrested by Shamgarh police along with his two associates.Mandsaur SP Vinod Meena said that acting on a tip-off on Thursday, police teams intercepted three men near railway ground in Shamgarh as they were waiting to board a train to Delhi and Punjab to transport the contraband. The trio — Pradhan Singh, Bhagwan Singh alias Bablu and Dilip Singh — were caught and 1.245 kg of opium valued at around Rs 2.49 lakh was seized from a plastic bag they were carrying. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act.Pradhan Singh, a resident of Nalkheda in Mandsaur district, was on the run since Feb 7 after being named the main accused in the case. Investigators said chemicals allegedly supplied by him were used to manufacture a thick MD drug mixture weighing 12.61 kg along with 102 gram of processed MD seized during the earlier raid.Police records show Pradhan Singh has prior involvement in narcotics trafficking, including a registered case at Iklhera police station in Jhalawar district.
