Mhow: Lokayukta police caught a woman patwari red-handed while accepting Rs 5,000 as bribe on Friday.
A resident of Kumariyakhedi village in Sardarpur tehsil of Dhar, Lakshman, had filed a written complaint against patwari Bharti Rajput of patwari halka no 25. As per the complainant, the process for leasing of land behind his house was underway, and when he tried to get the process done quickly, Bharti allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh for that, a press release of Lokayukta Indore office stated.
Lokayukta officials then asked Lakshman to hand over Rs 5,000 to her, and as soon as she accepted the cash, a team of inspector Ashutosh, head constable Ashish Shukla, along with six men and one woman constables arrested Bharti. She was booked under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act 2018.
