Indore: MIG police on Friday booked an alleged partner of a 23 year-old woman who died by suicide in Shraddha Shree Colony on March 30.
Based on a suicide note recovered from the scene, the police have registered a case against her boyfriend for abetment.
The woman was originally from Guna district and had been living in Indore to pursue her studies.
MIG police station in-charge CB Singh that a suicide note was discovered from the spot. In the note, the woman had levelled serious allegations against her alleged partner who also hails from her native village.
The suicide note revealed that the woman and the man had been in a relationship for the past six years. The man frequently visited Indore to meet her. When the woman recently pressed the man for marriage, he refused.
The situation worsened on March 29, when the man visited Indore again. A heated dispute broke out between the duo over their marriage. According to the suicide note, the man refused to marry the woman, used insulting language and allegedly told her to end her life before leaving the premises.
Following the altercation, the woman took the extreme step. She was rushed to MY Hospital by an acquaintance, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Based on the suicide note and statement of the grieving family, the police have registered a case against the man. Authorities were conducting a detailed investigation into the matter.
