Modi to lay foundation stone for India’s first PM MITRA Park today
Indore/Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the country's first Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in MP's Dhar district on Wednesday. This visit marks Modi's second trip to the state on his birthday, a day he commemorated in 2022 by releasing eight cheetahs from Namibia in the Kuno National Park.
PM Modi is scheduled to land in Indore in a special aircraft on Wednesday and will then proceed to Dhar by helicopter to attend the foundation laying ceremony scheduled around noon. Modi will also launch the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar' and the ‘8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah' campaigns, aimed at enhancing women's health services and promoting nutrition.
The state BJP has asked party workers to visit villages and invite people to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony on Wednesday. BJP is expecting around 1.5 lakh people to attend.
Sources in the state BJP headquarters in Bhopal said while the ceremony is a state govt function and the party's involvement is limited, the party is expecting about 1.5 lakh people to gather at Dhar since the PM will address the gathering.
Five domes have been constructed for the audience at the site, each of these domes has more than 30,000 seats. State BJP president Hemant Khandelwal and state party organisational general secretary Hitanand Sharma have overseen the efforts to get people to attend.
Addressing a meeting of party workers, Khandelwal said, "You should all welcome the PM with enthusiasm by attending the programme and thank him."
State BJP organisational general secretary Hitanand Sharma said, "It is a matter of fortune that PM Modi is visiting Bhainsola on his birthday. He will give a big gift to the state by laying the foundation of PM MITRA Park. To make the Prime Minister's program historic, all workers should not only attend the programme but also take along others," Sharma said, adding that a collective invitation should be given out by beating drums in villages.
Deputy chief minister Rajendra Shukla said, "It's a historic occasion that coincides with the Prime Minister's 75th birthday, making it even more special as we expect a gathering of more than 75,000 at Dhar. The Prime Minister is visiting the country's largest textile park, which is poised to bolster the textile sector and launch nationwide campaigns to provide women-centric preventive and curative health services at the community levels."
