Indore: Body of a 28-year-old jeweller's son who went missing from Agarsen Nagar on March 27 was found near a culvert in Balwara area of Khargone district. The body was recovered on Saturday and family reached the spot on Sunday for postmortem examination.
Akhil Soni, a resident of Agrasen Nagar on Airport Road in Indore, stepped out of his house on the morning of March 27, telling his family he was going out for breakfast. He never returned. As hours passed without any contact, his family approached Malharganj police the same night, and lodged a missing person complaint.
Police began searching for him, but there was no breakthrough for two days. On Saturday, the family received information that a body had been spotted near a culvert in Balwara area of Khargone district. The family rushed from Indore and identified the body as Akhil.
Initial findings have pointed towards suspected poisoning, though officials said the exact cause of death will be clear only after the postmortem examination report is received. The body was sent for autopsy.
Akhil belonged to a well-known jeweller family. He was actively involved in the family business.
The family has ruled out any financial distress or personal dispute, stating that Akhil had no known debts or conflicts.
Police said they are examining all angles, including his last movements and possible contacts, before he went missing.
