State govt issues chargesheet to MGM Medical College dean
Indore: State govt has issued a chargesheet to MGM Medical College dean Dr Sanjay Dixit for alleged corruption in disbursement of incentives for non-practicing allowance for doctors and misappropriation of incentives under Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Department of Public Health and Medical Education deputy secretary Mayank Agrawal, in a letter on Nov 18, has given 21 days to Dr Dixit to respond to the charges.
As per the chargesheet, while incentives were supposed to be given only to doctors who did not engage in private practice, Dr Dixit allegedly disbursed incentives to doctors who were actively involved in private practice.
It said that nodal officers of Ayushman Bharat scheme were allegedly given incentives even after a date prescribed in an office order.
Additionally, while medical officers of the same cadre were supposed to receive equal amounts of incentives during a certain period, Dr Dixit allegedly paid a lower percentage to some.
On the basis of a complaint, the then Indore Divisional Commissioner, Mal Singh, had conducted an inquiry and submitted the report to Bhopal. If Dr Dixit failed to respond within the stipulated 21 days, a departmental inquiry would be initiated.
"Inquiry on a similar complaint was carried out earlier and the file was ultimately closed as the charges were not proved," Dr Dixit said, adding that the distribution of incentives was carried out with approval of the executive council and the general council. "I will submit my reply to the chargesheet within the given time limit as there is no irregularity," he said.
