Indore: Dwarkapuri police on Saturday arrested a man accused of threatening a businessman to extort Rs 40 lakh in exchange for a plot worth around Rs 1.5 crore in Dwarkapuri area of Indore.
Additional DCP Dishesh Agarwal said Dwarkapuri police registered a case of criminal intimidation and extortion against Prem Prajapati, a resident of Vidur Nagar, following a complaint by the businessman. He said the accused allegedly pressured the complainant to pay Rs 40 lakh and settle an old dispute linked to the high-value plot. He was detained from the locality and brought to the police station for questioning.

During the investigation, it was found that Prajapati issued threats in the name of Kishore Hatkar alias Bhau to intimidate businessman Saurabh Rathore.
Police said recordings saved under the names Kishore, Tabbu and Rajendra were found on his device and are being examined as part of the probe.
Police records indicate that Prajapati has around six criminal cases registered against him, including charges related to land grabbing, cheating, assault and murder.
