Indore: Two persons had a narrow escape when a luxury SUV they were travelling in caught fire on Super Corridor on Tuesday morning.
Though the car was heavily damaged, no casualties were reported and the cause of fire was being probed, said a fire brigade official.
SP (fire) RS Nigwal said, “The incident took place around 9:40 am when
Ranveer Bhai Seth, owner of the SUV, was on his way to Gujarat with Parag Tiwari, who was at the wheel.
Parag stopped the vehicle near a police check post and as soon as they came out of the vehicle there was a blast and flames started rising from it.”
Nigwal said that a police officer rushed to their rescue and tried to douse the flames.
“We received inputs around 9:45 and the fire tender was rushed to the spot immediately. It took 2000 litre of water to douse the flames and the car was charred 90%,” he said.

BSF tanker passing from the area using which they tried to douse the flames.
Police said that the reason behind the fire could not be ascertained but the vehicle was worth over Rs 80 lakh.
