INDORE: Head of Intex Technologies Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (mobile phone) business head Tahir Hussain Dar was murdered by four people, two of whom waited outside on their bikes while the other two entered his office and shot him. This was revealed during interrogation of of Rajendra Verma, 24, who was arrested from Gwalior on Thursday night.
Palasia police station in charge SS Kushwah told TOI that Rajendra said while he and Govind Verma went inside Intex Technologies office at Chandralok Colony, their two aides Bhaiyyu and Bhurra waited in a lane outside on two motor cycles,"
Once inside Tahir's cabin, both Govind and Rajendra fired at him. While one of the bullets killed Tahir, the other missed the target and was recovered from the cabin later by cops, Kushwah added.
After firing at Tahir, both Govind and Rajendra came out the office and then Rajendra again fired from his pistol at the office to terrorise company's staff who tried to chase them.
Both Govind and Rajendra fled on two motor bikes waiting for them.
While Govind surrendered at Palasia police station five days after the killing on June 29, Rajendra was arrested from Nadia Par Taal Morar locality of Khatipur area of Gwalior district late on Thursday late night.
Efforts are now being made by Palasia police to nab the two remaining accused Bhaiyyu and Bhura, who are believed to be in hiding in Gwalior and Indore respectively.
"Investigations have also revealed that after killing Tahir, all four Govind, Rajendra, Bhurra and Bhaiyyu were hiding at Rajendra's house in Gwalior only. It was Rajendra only who had drawn the entire plot to assassinate Tahir, at a meeting in Govind's Indore house a fortnight before the June 24 murder," Kushwah said.
Four months ago, mobile phone's service centre franchisee which was operated by Govind was terminated by the company. But despite sustained efforts, Govind could not get the termination of franchisee revoked from Tahir, which ultimately led to his killing.
Tahir who was posted at Indore since last three years, hailed from Srinagar. His killing had sparked massive protest in the Jammu and Kashmir capital on June 25.
