Industrial units fined over improper waste discharge
Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation has intensified its drive against industrial units releasing untreated and dirty water into public drains and sewer lines, imposing fines totalling over Rs 8 lakh in past two weeks.On Sunday, IMC teams penalised several units in Zone 17 and Zone 03 for discharging waste and wastewater directly into drains and for improper operation of effluent treatment plants. Zonal officer Narendra Kureel imposed fines totalling Rs 1.40 lakh against four units, including Lalit Namkeen, Megha Polymer, Geetika Plastic, and Usha Organic. Zonal officer, Raj Thakur, conducted inspections in Ward 57, imposing fines totalling Rs 40,000 on units for improper ETP operation and discharging waste directly into the sewer line.

The units were given a two-day time to rectify their waste management systems.
