Indore set to sizzle under clear skies with temperatures approaching 38°C
Indore: The city is likely to experience a spell of clear and dry weather over the coming week, with temperatures remaining on the higher side and little change expected in the next few days, according to meteorologists.Data from the Meteorological Centre at the airport showed Sunday's maximum temperature at 35.8°C, 3°C above normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 14.2°C, slightly below the seasonal average. By 5.30 pm, the temperature was recorded at 34.2°C, reflecting the strong afternoon heat under clear skies.
Over the past week, the city already witnessed a sharp rise in temperature. Daytime readings increased by more than 5°C, while night temperatures rose by over 4°C, bringing an early feel of summer to the city. On Saturday, the maximum temperature crossed the 36°C mark for the first time this season, reaching 36.2°C. Meteorologist Dr Divya Surendran said the core of the tropical western stream shifted northwards and is currently positioned over Kashmir. A new western disturbance is expected to affect the western Himalayan region from March 9 onwards. However, it is unlikely to have any significant impact on weather conditions in Indore and surrounding areas."For the coming 7 days, mainly clear skies with dry conditions will prevail in the region. Over the next 5 days, no weather warnings were issued and maximum temperatures are expected to remain fairly steady," she said.Experts note that temperatures may continue to remain elevated until around March 14, with the mercury likely to approach 38°C. A gradual decline in temperature is expected from March 15 onwards due to the influence of northern winds and possible cloud cover. During this period, daytime temperatures may dip below 33°C before rising again towards the end of March.
