Indore rings in New Year with festive mood, fireworks & food
Indore: Indoreans welcomed the New Year with lively celebrations, colourful lighting and midnight gatherings across major public spaces and entertainment hubs in the city.
Families, friends and tourists flocked to popular locations where music, food stalls and community events created a festive atmosphere. The mood remained upbeat through Wednesday evening as people stepped out to celebrate the arrival of the New Year together. public venues hosted live music, DJ performances and themed parties, drawing young crowd.
"We came out as a family for dinner and stayed back for the countdown. It felt special to celebrate in the open with so many people around," said Radhika Rathore, who reached Chhappan Dukan.
Police and civic authorities made extensive preparations to ensure that the celebrations remained safe and well organised. Additional force was deployed in busy areas and extra attention was given to traffic regulation. Emergency response teams were also on standby to ensure quick assistance if required. Many residents appreciated the arrangements.
"We usually avoid crowded places, but this year we felt comfortable stepping out because the arrangements looked disciplined," said software professional Karan Raipuriya, who joined the celebrations with family.
Many people also preferred quieter gathering at homes, resorts and farmhouses, choosing to welcome the New Year with close friends and family members.
As midnight approached, the skyline lit up with fireworks while people exchanged greetings, clicked photographs, and shared messages with loved ones.
Civic body focused on maintaining cleanliness and ensuring convenience for visitors, with sanitation and utility teams working through the night. Public transport and app-based cabs saw steady movement as people travelled back after celebrations.
