Illegal structure demolished in South Toda area

Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) team on Tuesday demolished a G+3 (ground plus three-storey) building in South Toda area that had been built in violation of the sanctioned building plans.According to Zone 11 building officer, Gitesh Tiwari, the construction was spread across approximately 3,000 square feet and belonged to landowner Shafi Sheikh.The inspection revealed significant deviations from the approved map. Rooms had been constructed on the ground floor in the area designated for parking. The mandatory margin open space (MOS) at the front of the property had been encroached upon, violating municipal bylaws.IMC had previously issued a legal notice to the property owner, providing an opportunity for a hearing and a 15-day grace period to voluntarily remove the illegal portions. When the owner failed to comply within the stipulated timeframe, the corporation initiated the demolition.The operation was carried out using excavators and earth moving machines.
