Indore: Depalpur police seized 40 boxes of liquor being transported illegally and arrested two persons during a crackdown on illicit activities in rural Indore. The liquor was estimated to be worth around Rs 1.44 lakh and a SUV, which was also seized, was valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh.
ASP Rupesh Dwivedi said that acting on a tip-off about liquor being transported towards Depalpur, a police team set up a barricade with help of local witnesses and intercepted a SUV on Friday. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 40 boxes of country-made liquor being transported illegally.

The accused were identified as Rahul Dhakad, 28, a resident of Bodli Hoj under Depalpur police station limits, and Mahesh Kewat, 27, a resident of a nearby village in the area.
Both were taken into custody and booked under relevant section of the Excise Act.
